Soi Dog Foundation is a phenomenal charity based in Phuket, Thailand that has a multi-faceted remit, involving the rescue, treatment and rehabilitation of street dogs and cats. SDF sanctuary including its veterinary hospital is the largest of its kind in South East Asia. As well as caring for injured animals, SDF is also involved in educational outreach work to tackle the dog and cat meat trades.
Dr Nic Hayward spent a week with the veterinary team at this inspiring hospital, incorporating training sessions in ultrasonography and radiology, as well as scanning a large number of in-patients, only a fraction of the huge caseload that this dedicated team of vets care for on a daily basis.
